Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010:  PTSA Veterans Recognition Meeting 6:00pm SMS Cafeteria:  Color Guard & Percussion Ensemble Perform Students wear black polo style Band shirt with Khaki colored pants (long pants or skirts for girls) with shirts tucked in and black shoes with solid black socks that cover ankles when seated.

 

Mon. Nov. 15, 2010: Band Booster Mtg. 7:00pm SMS Band Room

Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010: Concert 7:00pm @ Bartlett Baptist Church Students wear black polo style Band shirt with Khaki colored pants (long pants or skirts for girls) with shirts tucked in and black shoes with solid black socks that cover ankles when seated.

 Students arrive @ 6:30pm.  REQUIRED EVENT FOR ALL BAND STUDENTS

 

Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010:  3:30pm King’s Daughters & Sons Home Concert: (SMS Band & BHS Band volunteers: SERVICE POINTS AVAILABLE!) Required rehearsal – if participating @ SMS Monday, Dec. 14, until 4:00pm.  Students wear festive holiday attire.  OPTIONAL; EXTRA CREDIT FOR PARTICIPATION

 

Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011:  All-West TN Band Auditions 2nd & 3rd year students  @ Collierville High School, TN; EXPECTED FOR 2+ YEAR STUDENTS

 

Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 3-5, 2011:  All-West TN Band Clinic @ Cannon Center for the Performing Arts downtown Memphis; For students who were selected during the Jan. 8, 2011 auditions.

 

**Wednesday March 9, 2011: West TN School Band & Orchestra Association Concert Festival Colonial Middle School REQUIRED FOR HONOR BAND. Students wear black polo style Band shirt with Khaki colored pants (long pants or skirts for girls) with shirts tucked in and black shoes with solid black socks that cover ankles when seated.

 

Saturday, April 16, 2011: West TN School Band & Orchestra Association Solo & Ensemble Festival @ Cordova Middle School; $7.00 student fee per entry included in Band fees.  Additional fees ($7.00 per event) are due from 7th & 8th Grade students ONLY IF THEY ARE PARTICIPATING IN MORE THAN ONE EVENT. Students wear black polo style Band shirt with Khaki colored pants (long pants or skirts for girls) with shirts tucked in and black shoes with solid black socks that cover ankles when seated. REQUIRED EVENT FOR ALL BAND STUDENTS

** CD players required for solos!

 

Tuesday, April 26:  PTSA Meeting Fine Arts Recognition 6:00pm Cafeteria:  Percussion Ensemble Performs Students wear black polo style Band shirt with Khaki colored pants (long pants or skirts for girls) with shirts tucked in and black shoes with solid black socks that cover ankles when seated. (We’ll perform first, short event)

 

Thursday-Saturday, April 28-30, 2011:  Music in the Parks Concert Festival

Atlanta, GA (2 Nights) REQUIRED FOR HONOR BAND

 

Tuesday, May 3, 2011:  6:00pm 5th Grade Orientation Concert 8th Grade Band (short performance – we’ll be finished around 6:15pm. Students wear black polo style Band shirt with Khaki colored pants (long pants or skirts for girls) with shirts tucked in and black shoes with solid black socks that cover ankles when seated.

 

Thursday, May 5, 2011: Concert 7:00PM Bartlett Baptist Church Students arrive @ 6:30pm. Students wear black polo style Band shirt with Khaki colored pants (long pants or skirts for girls) with shirts tucked in and black shoes with solid black socks that cover ankles when seated.  REQUIRED FOR ALL BAND STUDENTS

Mon. Sept. 13, 2010: Band Booster Mtg. 7:00pm SMS Cafeteria

**Every family needs to either sell items or make a tax-deductible donation to the SMS Band Boosters, which are a 501C3 non-profit organization.

Friday, Sept. 24, 2010:  All Band students are invited to Middle School Band night @ Bolton HS (home) vs Frayser HS football game.  MS Band students admitted free (wearing SMS Band or School shirt or Band hoodie) & sit with the Bolton HS Band. Meet at 6:15pm at Bolton HS Band room.  Parents pick up students 9:45pm same place.  OPTIONAL
