Date: Monday, November 13, 2006
President Anita Murry called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm on November 13, 2006.
Dr. Chipman introduced the guard for their first performance.
Krista Osborn read the minutes from the last meeting. The minutes were approved as read.
Pat Pritchard presented the Treasurer’s report. The checking account balance was $13,229.34 and the savings account balance was $9,907.09 as of October 31, 2006. The Treasurer’s report was approved and filed for audit.
Band fees were discussed. Anyone who has not paid needs to see Pat Pritchard.
Anita Murry mentioned that uniform alterations need to be done before the December 2 parade. If anyone has any questions about alterations, speak with Melanie Wilkes.
Anita also discussed the need for volunteers for upcoming fall and winter events. Sign up sheets were available for volunteer sign ups.
Dr. Carol Chipman discussed program updates. Interims were sent home today and Powergrade will be up within 2 weeks. Parents will be able to go online and check grades. Practice records are to be turned in weekly any Wednesday- Friday. Dr. Chipman updates grades on Tuesdays. Parents and students were encouraged to visit shadowlawn.org for current updates and information. Scale sheets and various other forms are available on the site. Dr. Chipman stressed that students need to be ready to play off honor band scales.
Fundraising was discussed. Parents were reminded that Schnucks and Kroger cards are available. Five percent spent goes directly back to our band program. Mike Racer presented the results of the fall fundraiser. Approximately $5800.00 was sold and $550.00 was donated. We cleared approximately $3000.00. Awards were presented to the following top selling students: Alexis Johnson-$29.27, TJ Murry-$14.63, and Jasmine Smith-$14.63. Other awards were presented by grade level were: Sixth grader Angel Mercado-$19.50, Seventh grader Tacangeria Morgan-$19.50 and Eight grader Katie Theil-$19.50. The random drawing winners of $75.00 Simon gift cards were: Sixth grader Garrett Gibson, Seventh grader Jael Urbano and Eighth grader Matthew Osborn. Mike explained that pickup for sale items would commence immediately after the meeting in the clinic.
Anita adjourned the meeting at 8:00 pm.
