Board Meeting

Date:  Monday, September 11, 2006

 

President Anita Murry called the meeting to order at 7:06 pm on September 11, 2006.

 

The introduction of this year’s nominees for Band Booster Board was made:

            President:                     Anita Murry

            Vice President:            Mike Racer

            Treasurer:                    Pat Pritchard

            Secretary:                    Krista Osborn

 

Anita asked for any other nominations for any of these positions.  There were none opposed and nominations were approved for the 2006-2007 Band Booster Board.

 

Krista Osborn read the minutes from the last meeting.  The minutes were approved as read.

 

Anita Murry addressed the changes to the bylaws and the need for two signatures on all checks.  A motion was made and approved to amendment to the bylaws with an effective date of September 11, 2006.

 

Pat Pritchard presented the Treasurer’s report.   The checking account balance was $5829.79 and the savings account balance was $9895.87 as of August 31, 2006.   Certain line items of the proposed budget were discussed including annual band fees, miscellaneous income, banquet expenses, instrument repairs, transportation and director differential.  The Treasurer’s report was filed for audit and the 2006-2007 budget was approved.

 

Pat Pritchard discussed our new tax-exempt status as a nonprofit organization.  Any donations made will be tax deductible. 

 

Band fees will be due before fall break begins.

 

Hooded sweatshirts will be available to order.  More information will be forthcoming in the next couple of weeks.

 

The fall fundraiser will begin September 20 – Oct 4, 2006.  Cakes will be sold for $12.00 and cannot be sold during school hours.  All orders will be ready for pick up at the November 13, 2006 Band Booster Meeting.  Donations can be made in lieu of selling cakes.  The same prize structure will be available to either cake sales or donations made.

 

Kroger Cards are available for $5.00 and have $5.00 loaded on them initially.  Proceeds go to support the band.

 

Volunteers are needed for several events throughout the year:  Uniform fitting, picture day, Bartlett parade, King’s Daughters & Sons Home Concert, Six Flags St. Louis trip, Spring Dance, 8th grade band concerts at area elementary schools, Honor Band Concert festival at Craigmont Middle, etc.  Sign up sheets were made available to anyone interested in volunteer opportunities. 

 

The care and upkeep of uniforms was discussed.
